Every season, the best seven cats between six and fourteen moons of every Clan compete in a competition called the Warrior Games. The Clan that wins gets a piece of extra territory, a moon's supply of prey, and no Clan may attack them until the next Warrior Games. Silverpaw has trained hard her whole life for the Warrior Games, in spite of her small size and unusually short claws. When she is chosen, she thinks that it's a dream come true, but she doesn't expect pressure from her Clanmates, rivalry with cats she's never met, and jealous reactions from her friends and littermates.
