In a world where gods of light and dark are constantly at war, darkness is winning. By shaping the world into an almost uninhabitable jungle and filling it with many creatures of darkness, one city remains. Protected by its walls and radiating light, it houses a hero and his name is Jesker Sialani. After being caught in the act of stealing valuable food, Jesker has to suffer the Punishments of a harsh government. Temptations of running into the jungle flash through his mind but that would put him at risk of becoming consumed by darkness. A risk he might just take...
