The other ships that were supposed to arrive never did. What had started as the first of many became the only ones. Rather than their dreams of taming a planet, they settled for living with a place never meant for humans. Kierst is one of the descendants of those early settlers and works on the interior of one the domes. His job gives him the solitude he prefers with both work and home. He has no family and no friends, which is one of the reasons he is chosen to learn the truth about what happened to Earth and why everyone on Mars must return. He is among a small group who are entrusted with the greatest secret of his government. If his group fails, there will be no future for those living on Mars. Their secret fate lies with those who must return to Earth.
