"I've always wondered, whether I'm safe. Like truly safe. Or if I'm even loved. I hadn't felt loved for a long time. I didn't have anybody beside the girls and The Mystery Diary, which I had found three years ago. [...] Kids started to disappear when I was four. The government couldn't do anything. Nobody could. After months, more disappearances happened in other orphanages as well as in ours. [...] I only know that back there in 1978 disappearances also had happened and this mystery girl had known something about these events, yet she hadn't told a thing to the government. I wondered why.... "

Alina McSteen is a 17 years old girl, living in this orphanage at the time when these disappearances happened. She wants to find out more about the disappeared kidds, but what happenes, when one day she get taken.
