Despite their lethal bites, inhuman dominance, and calculating actions, vampires have served humans for years. They haven't been overthrown, but subjected to act like pets for royal uses. 

That's why the Dions, the highly noble family of the largest kingdom has prospered with their armies. Because, let's be logical, fifty blood thirsty vampires against a hundred humans with only a useless sword, it's obvious who takes the victory. But the Dions aren't like the other royal families in...many ways. 

And it all leads to the King and Queen's son, Iris, and his personal body guard, Kai, who have this..thing but they don't know about this..thing, nor do outsiders recall this..thing.
