Zack al sufrir la pérdida de su madre en un accidente de autos cuando era tan solo un niño, queda devastado y enfadado con todo el mundo a su alrededor. 

Su padre un alcohólico que lo único que hace es lamentarse por la pérdida de su amada esposa, pierde la tutoría de su único hijo. De esta manera Zack termina en un hogar adoptivo junto a otros niños más. 

Sus padres adoptivos, Mike y Joanne, se encarga de castigar a todos los niños que tienen allí, haciéndolos pasar un infierno a diario. 

De ésta manera Zack con el tiempo empieza a desarrollar un rencor hacía todas éstas personas, que poco a poco solo logra crear en él una sed de venganza.
