Far into the future, long after humanity has all but destroyed the planet, a Commonwealth coroner has to solve a mysterious death of an unknown and grossly mutated individual which leads her through violence, depravity, the worst of human nature and the dimming hope that with the help of a young and ambitious detective, she may find out why she is the target of a most unusual message.
