His hand brushes my hip as he shuts the car door behind me. I inhale sharply as he leaves it leaning there, propped between my arm and waist. My eyelids blink a few times. My face is inches away from his chest and I have to glance up to lock eyes with him.
"I know you Eli. I know the way you react to me whether you want to or not. The way that glint in your eye changes only for me. And I know that you know me too," he utters softly.
I immediately stop squirming to prove a point, standing up straighter.
"Do I?" I challenge him.

Nothing could compare to the way her gaze made me feel. The flames licking my skin and the raging fire in my veins was way more bearable. We held our breath as we heard footsteps enter the dark room. My heart raced and I covered my mouth to keep from screaming as tears ran down my cheeks.
