~One Story. An Ocean of Changes.~
We may have tried, succeeded or failed at stopping the use of plastic, but do the innocent lives under water know anything about what we're doing or trying to do up here?
____________________________________________
"Have you heard about the killer roses, Shelly?"
"...um no nana. "
"It was a long, long time ago when they first appeared, when the Humans started throwing things into our home."
_____________________________________________
This story is an original work of fiction, my ripple in the ocean that we need to take care of. My official entry into the #PlanetOrPlastic short story competition initiated by @NationalGeographic to create awareness about what plastic can do to our home, our Mother Earth.

The Professor and the Siren
My whole life I dedicated to discovering the secrets of the ocean, but when one day I encounter a merman I think I might be losing my mind. Except it's real and he's asking me out. Spilling all his secrets. Sating my curiosity and stirring my lust. My own private nerdy professor turned merman, he ticks all my boxes. What do I do when my merman is in danger of discovery from my colleagues? Do I turn my back on them and help him? Do I sink or swim? Do I fall in love? This is a short prequel story for my other story Hook, Line & Sinking. This story can be read stand alone and you don't need to read this story to understand Hook, it's simply a bonus. ;-)Concluída
The Gory Details (Gross)
Between 2004 and 2008 I wrote a series of "Tips for Writers" for Nocturnal Ooze magazine vaguely about what would happen in real life if you did the things they do in movies but mostly about the gross out. I've always loved them and so have taken them out of mothballs for a new audience here on wattpad. They're all here except for #13 which seems to have vanished. I've also left them mostly intact except for a few very dated references that have been updated. I own the rights to the articles and Queen Mum of the Ooze, Kay Patterson has allowed me to keep the name "Gore Monger" (which she owns) provided I write: The Gore Monger appears courtesy of Nocturnal Ooze. Looking For Hope
After major coastal cities sink to the bottom of the ocean at the end of the twenty-first century, the richest inhabitants of Earth escape the planet to build new colonies in a distant solar system. Thirty six light years away from the Milky Way galaxy, centuries have passed and humanity is well established. Among the most notable establishments is a prestigious university for the study of alien biology. Moira, a girl with a pervasive developmental disorder, but a talented student nonetheless, navigates the challenge of interplanetary university life as she researches a rare and endangered species. When a deeper threat emerges that challenges the existence of these creatures, she must team up with her classmates and find a solution to a problem much bigger than they could ever hope to be. ***** Credits: The cover is courtesy of the brilliant @vertigo_moon from The Vertigo Graphics while the line editing/proofreading/grammar check was done with a lot of input from Halyn Bleiz a.k.a vin_elend from the Floret community and Katie Marie from the Coven of Bookworms community. They have my gratitude. The blurb was written with some help from @RowanCarver and I am thankful for her feedbacks.Concluída

Species Unknown [Book 2: Pisces)
*MERMAN ROMANCE* Moving from the warm beaches of Oahu to the rocky shores of Monterey, California was supposed to be a fresh start for college graduate Leilani Ono. However, as she starts working for the esteemed genetics laboratory hidden along the chilly California coast, she realizes that her attempt at escaping her past has actually thrown her deep into a web of convoluted lies, mad scientists, and the horrors of human experimentation. ~*~ Gripped with panic, I turned away only to come face to face with the very thing I tried to run from. I gasped, stumbling back. Its face was shadowed, but I could still see the outline of its features. Illuminated by the reflection of the stars, I could see the sharp jawline and steely eyes that regarded me. A face that, even in the dark of night, was distinctly masculine. "Why are you here." A chilling voice seethed from the shadows. It was as cold as the night around us, with a slight hiss that was threatening enough to send my heart racing even faster. ~*~ #1 in EXPERIMENT #1 in MERPEOPLE #1 in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST #1 in OCEAN The second book in the Species Unknown series. Can easily be read as a stand-alone novel but I recommend reading Book 1: Aves first for more context. *COMPLETED*Concluída![The (Short) Story of the Evil Umbrellas [Completed]](https://img.wattpad.com/cover/65890338-256-k591766.jpg)

Merworld
Neera wasn't just part Mermaid, she was something else as well. Something that made most in her world over look her but she fought for the right things, Acceptance of her and those like her. In the midst of tragedy will she find love and a champion for her cause? Will he help her to bring about her dreams? Excerpt: "Neera this is Carson Lowe. Carson this is her. Isn't she just as beautiful as I said?" I blushed and jabbed her with my elbow. "Patty, what's going on?" She'd tried to set me up before and I had yet to be impressed by her idea of a perfect guy for me. "Carson is the man behind the Waves of Difference." I knew who the billionaire was but I didn't know he'd truly done more than rite about change. Now I understood why everyone was so interested in him. The Waves if Difference was a group that was in support of equality for each and everyone no matter who you were. I applauded his courage, but I still thought he exploited some of the smaller groups to build his empire. "He is planning a new article in his magazine, 'The difference in our world and how they change it.' each issue will feature an article about people like me and you, those who are different, and how they work to make things better." "You and Patty are among the top on my list. I had hoped to interview you both over the course of the convention. To be published next month in my magazine." "No thank you. While I can't speak for my sister I'm not interested." I started to turn to leave but Patty grabbed my arm. "But Nee, this would be great, think about all the people that could be inspired to make their own difference."Concluída
The dark waters| ✓
I won't survive. I'm sure of it. Strong wind ruffles through my clothes and hardly allows my eyes to remain open. I'm surprised that I'm still standing on the rock and haven't been tossed into the whirlwind. Huge waves crash down upon the rocks making deafening sounds. I open my eyes wide enough to see the next wave coming. As it comes towards the rock, it reaches the height of a three-storey building and seems to loom over me for some time, like a monster looking at its prey with hungry eyes, before finally crashing down towards me like a waterfall. While it comes down one single thought comes in my mind. This is how I die. Then the waters devour me. ___________________________________________ What's the worst crime you could ever commit?
