Adelaida Nikolae, an orphaned girl from the town of Bucharest, is left as the lone survivor of her wide spread family after the horrifying attacks on Wallachia from Dracula and his creatures. After an extremely close call with one of the beast one of the final nights of the attacks on her home town, her hair, basically overnight, turned stark grey due to shock horror - and thus, ever since, she has been labelled as a witch for her unorthodox appearance and for the fact that she was able to survive as her family could not.
Over time although, and after leaving her city for an evening of peace in the wilderness, she comes across a hauntingly beautiful man by a lake - Alucard Tepes. She slowly finds herself coming across him more and more until their path together is sealed forever. But, how could a forgotten Prince ever come to love a Human?
