In Kendall's community it is normal to be different, but not Kendall's kind of different.
"Kendall... you will shame your whole family if you become one of them," Sam paused, "I will always love you, but if you become a hetero y-you will be killed." She looked in my eyes and meant it.
"Being a hetero never hurt anybody..." I turned my eyes away looking at my wrists.
"This is what happens when you become a breeder... you get crazy fucking ideas in your mind! A man and a woman is not supposed to love each other."
"I love him, mom!" I cried. She raised her hand and smacked me across my face. I crawled back to my room and looked in the mirror my cheek was bruised and alittle red. I picked up the make-up quickly covered it and opened my window to go down. He was waiting for me already.
