I'm not really what someone would call a true princess. I'm not into those frilly pink dresses and waiting for a knight or prince to save her. I'm the kind of princess to save that so-called prince charming. It probably didn't help that I grew up knowing that what normal girls were told, were lies.

------

"I know, but that doesn't mean that Caspian couldn't find a way around it. You know how they are in Jahat."

"What does that mean? I always thought that we were fair?" The voice that I hate the most spoke from next to me.

"Caspian, I swear to the broken depths of Jahat, I will kill you if you bought those humans here," I treated him. We may have known each other since we were kids, but that doesn't mean that I like him.

"Kill me... not her." His voice was low, deadly calm, but his eyes-bloodshot, burning-never left mine. Eyes that should have hated me. Eyes that should have turned away after my betrayal. But no... even now, he chose me. And that was the worst punishment of all. Ten guns pointed at us. Ten traitors... just like me. And in the middle of it-Devraj. My Devraj. Bhai will come. He will save him. He has to. But only if I don't live to ruin him again. So I stepped back. Once. Twice. The edge welcomed me with open arms. "Don't-" his voice cracked, just once. Just enough to shatter me. And I let go. The world blurred. The screams behind me blurred into nothing. My shame, my fear, my hurt drowned with the wind as I fell. It was easier this way-easier than living with the weight of my own betrayal. But my heart-damn my stubborn heart-refused to stop beating. Because it wasn't ready to leave him. Not yet. A woman who betrayed him. 👑 A ruthless CEO who can't let go. 🔥 Enemies-to-lovers. Forced marriage. Royal secrets. Slow-burn desire. ⚠️ Disclaimer This story is a work of fiction. The Renaissance of Catalina by urmomshoohaa
42 parts Complete Mature
Catalina Azura's life ended in misery. For 3 decades a war has ensued between Elimina and Azura, and in it, Catalina was only a pawn. Sent to the Elminian kingdom to be wed to the Crown prince, Caspian Atticus Elmina III, by her Step Brother the King; she is sent into a den of wolves. She is timid, but there is one thing that Catalina has, powers, ones that have been thought lost to time. She cannot be discovered, as witches have long been feared and more importantly, slaughtered. In Elmina, Catalina treated as a slave, being abused by her own ladies in waiting. She's completely abandoned, with no one from Azura to help her, and Caspian? He has long lost interest in his frail wife. Unable to stop the war, she sees her husband carry her friend's heads on pikes from battle, another desperate reminder she is helpless. Eventually, Catalina is sent to death, on charges of witchcraft, by Caspian, all so his concubine can become queen. As the executioner sharpens his scythe, he asks Catalina for her last words, she only cries, pleading her innocence. She prays for a last chance, for whatever gods there are to show her mercy. What happens when Catalina wakes up back in Azura, where her step-brother instructs her that she will be sent to Elmina to be wed to Caspian? She has traveled 7 years back in time. Catalina vows to have her revenge on those who hurt her, starting with Caspian who killed her, and ending with the King of Azura who sent her to this bloody hell in the first place. She will rule Azura and Elmina, as queen, and she will get her revenge. The only way to do that? Be more dangerous than the danger. ----------------- "I assume you've never been told no?" I ask, batting my lashes and placing my hands on Caspian's chest. He smirks "Not ever." "Well then Your Highness, let me be the first" I smile "No Caspian. Go to hell" "Would you say yes there, my love?"
