Its all a tug of war. Apart from survival, what drives us is the search for happiness, the pursuit of joy. This story is just that. A tug of war between two individuals, each believing that the other is their key to happiness in some way or form. However, in order to be happy, one must have their way. Like oxen they are yoked together, both wanting to go in different directions. ( Its not that deep.)
