The Windham Shield is a ragtag resistance group that lies on the outskirts of the cultist controlled city-state Aegis. Battered and teetering on the edge of utter defeat, the Shields are outmatched, outnumbered, and outgunned by the Barakhan cultists who wish to enforce their demonic gospel. Damian stumbles across a squad of Shields on the brink of being overrun by demons and rescues them.

Damian becomes the long-needed sword of the Shields, and gives them what they need most. A fighting chance. The Barakhan however, will permit no such heresy, and will go to any extremes necessary to crush the Shields and their new sword.
