After everything that happened in Australia, Miriam and her family decided to move to Beacon Hills from a job offer. Though her parents and her never had a great relationship, it didn't stop the fact that they'd do anything to protect their children. Miriam wasn't like any other normal girl: she's had a mermaid tail since she was 8. After that, she realized how delicate secrets are, and more importantly, how they need to be kept to themselves. Since then, she's been a usually quiet person with the intention of not making too many friends. Every seventh moon, or as she called it: "the Seventh Cycle of the Moon," was the one time the power of the full moon was strong enough to put her under a full moon trance. The ocean is full of mysterious creatures and things. Mermaids and mermen are among these wonders, but they are nothing but myths, or so one would think. The world is certainly full of wonderful surprises. One fateful day, Y/N's father finds himself drowning in the deep blue. He thought he'd die, but was thankfully rescued by a creature so peculiar that he just had to bring home to study. However, something he didn't expect was how much this fish man would change the life of his daughter. {Merman x Female Reader}

A story similar to a classic fairy tale, but with a major twist ... What if the little mermaid were a deep sea merman instead? And what if the human he fell in love with went to live with him in the sea instead? Though born as a regular human on land, Henrietta always felt as if she were suffocating. She struggled to survive and belong among her kind. On a night when she sought to end her life at sea, she was rescued by Elsen, a merman who had once felt the same as her. Despite coming from different worlds, their shared experiences instantly built a bridge between them. When misfortune struck again, Henrietta lost her home and was driven to the edge once more. Seeing that she had nowhere else to go, Elsen brought her to his home in the deep sea. Although the ocean depths were tranquil and soothing, Henrietta's heart was still plagued with worries. And she soon discovered that Elsen also had yet to defeat his own demons. Will these two broken souls finally heal and come to love not only each other but themselves as well?
