This is my entry for National Geographic's #PlanetorPlastic writing contest. In 500 words or less, we were asked to write and share a real or fictional story, that was inspired by the photos that were presented. This short story is written through the eyes of a marine creature. It gives us a true understanding of how they feel and the way in which plastic, among other non-biodegradable materials are ending their lives, and bringing them near the edge of extinction. Though the complete removal of plastic and other materials are near impossible, the least we could do is follow the three(3) R's: Reduce Reuse Recycle If everyone can attempt to follow this, each individuals' collective actions can have a tremendous impact on waste issues, making the world a better and cleaner place. In doing so, over 1 million marine animals would be saved each year by this kind, simple and selfless act. So please, Play your part in saving marine lives and spread the word. By doing so, it can inspire others to consider the impact of plastics on the planet, making them aware of their actions which may create a ripple of change. #PlanetOrPlasticAll Rights Reserved
