I step into my room numbly and lit a small candle near my bedside. I toss the letter to the floor and let myself fall facefirst into the plush bed.

"Ahem-" A throat clears.

A barely visible figure sits on my lounge chair next to the bookshelf. Before I can cast a spell, my wand is taken from my grasp.

"Wait..." The dark figure's wand illuminates the room in a low cool glow putting my small candle to shame.

"Tom!?" I gasp in horror.

"I assume you did not open your letter," Tom's eyes dart down at the unopened letter on the floor.

Realization hits me, and my body freezes. "We're a match!?" I gasp. "This can't be-maybe there was a mistake, let me check mine,"

"Denial will get you nowhere" His deep voice cuts like a knife. "Besides, why would I lie to you?" He stands up and turns his back on me.

"You?! I have to marry you," I fume. "you disgust me" I spat. My blood boils at the mere sight of him.

"It doesn't seem like we have a choice," Tom's voice rumbles back.

"You promised me that you wouldn't leave." "Tom...I never left." ~.+*+.~ Fate is Cruel. Truly. What if the dark Tom Riddle was never evil from the start? What if something important to him vanished and made him become a monster? What if he had a lover that he never forgot about? A lover that was separated from him too early... ~.+*+.~ (Y/N) is an ordinary student at Hogwarts who struggles with Potions. Until one day, she finds the perfect study partner to revise with: a Slytherin boy with a closed heart and always a few metres away from her. He knows nothing about love and affection, but a girl steps into his world and starts to make it shift. But as their love gets stronger, (Y/N)'s fate draws near, and the boy's destiny to become the Dark Lord inches closer and closer every minute. Will the two have a happy ending? Or will an unexpected borderline cut the two apart forever? ~.+*+.~ If you're looking for a non-toxic and sad-love relashionship with Tom Riddle, this may be the Fanfiction for you! This Fanfiction contains some angst caused by separation and love, and is not about dark love. Instead, it is about sad love. I own none of the characters (except for some random ones I made), GIFs, and background settings. This Fanfiction is based on the Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling. You never expected to want Tom Riddle. And he never expected to want you. You were born into power. A name that held weight, a family that demanded perfection. As the eldest daughter of the Hayse bloodline, your future had always been carefully orchestrated-until the night you were summoned downstairs and your fate was sealed. An arranged marriage. A name you knew but a boy you had never truly understood. Tom Marvolo Riddle. Silent, calculating, dangerous. He sat across from you, unreadable as ever, learning of your forced betrothal at the same time you did. But while you wrestled with your emotions, he remained unmoved-at least, on the surface. At Hogwarts, the rumors spread like wildfire. Some believed it was love, others whispered of force, but the truth was the rarest tale of all. You and Tom were bound by duty, trapped in a facade neither of you wanted, yet forced to maintain. But the lines began to blur. In stolen glances, in shared silences, in the moments where you realized the boy with darkness in his veins might not be as indifferent as he seemed. And when he finally let his mask slip, you saw the truth-his desire, his frustration, and the one thing he hated most. That he wanted you. But pretending to love Tom Riddle is one thing. The real problem? You're starting to. And in a world where blood is sacred and betrayal is deadly, love is the most dangerous thing of all. 🔥 Dark Academia | Arranged Marriage | Slow Burn | Power & Legacy | Reader x Tom Riddle 🔥

"Promise me, Cindria! Please!" Tom pleaded, now gripping my arms in a vice-like a grip. "I won't, I won't promise something when I know I'm going to break that promise, Tom," I said shaking my head. I refused to comply with Tom's demands because I knew one way or another, I'd be forced to get involved in what's happening. Whatever was happening. "Fine! You leave me no choice! Nagini!" I heard Tom say, and when he uttered that familiar name, I began to tremble. "Tom...Tom! what are you doing?" I said weakly, raising my hands to his muscled biceps. "Protecting you," he replied, just as Nagini, Tom's huge snake, slithered into the room. I could feel myself becoming faint and I pressed myself into Tom for protection from the venomous creature. He wouldn't. Would he? He would. "Tom...You promised...You promised that it wouldn't come near me!" I began to panic, now trying to get away from Tom, who held me around the waist, tightly against him. "I know what I promised, Cindria, I promise Nagini won't hurt you. She'll just be outside your door, guarding you, making sure nothing happens to you in case you have any ideas," he told me, putting his hand on my cheek. "Please don't do this, you don't have to do this," I whispered, tears making their way to my eyes.
