Spirit's Fortune

Peace is threatened for the first time in twenty five years. Unnatural disasters of incredible power sweep across Rhalia; mountains collapse, a kingdom is swallowed by the ocean, and a strange epidemic arises on the north. The superstitious whisper that another Withering is approaching, and that the suffering of the world is only a result of demons finding a new master to lead them out of their prison.

In the middle of Ariwa Forest, Thalia finds herself trying to deal with a demonic illness that has spread among her people, but solutions are slipping through her fingers and time is running out. On a last desperate attempt to save her loved ones, Thalia decides to work with a strange foreigner who claims to know a way of curing the disease.

After an enraged ocean nearly drowns an entire kingdom, Soren finds a dangerous secret that may reveal the flooding wasn't as natural as it appeared to be. With the help of a lesser spirit, however, she finds that someone else is already prowling the mountains searching for the same thing; and at the same time, searching for her.

But on those mountains Romi finds that the disasters spanning the continent are no mere coincidences, although that revelation becomes the least of her problems as she finds a strange girl that claims to hold the power to stop the war to come.
