The day the sky fell is the day I learned freedom it not a right, it's a privilege. 2023. That was the year the earth was taken. Humans were weak against our alien invaders, weak against their technology. They claimed what was once ours and used our resources for their own benefit. We thought at first maybe everything would be fine, we can handle new neighbors can't we? Wrong. As soon as we got comfortable they started taking what they wanted. Land, food, even the children. Their experiments were harsh, inhumane. And anyone lucky enough to survive was sooner used as a weapon against their own people. The failed experiments roam the wastelands, feeding off unlucky travelers. The earth is in constant chaos. Between our alien overlords and the people fighting for their freedom. We will never be free with the way things are now. Someone can change it. Someone can give us our freedom. My name is Dawn, and this is my story, my awakening.

Heather has lived her entire life believing her mother is crazy. She doesn't believe the stories that were told to her as a child, the stories about men descending from the sky to take her. She rejects the false narratives and tries to help her mother the best she can even if that means constantly moving and preparing for the men to come back. She doesn't envision a life beyond this, never expected to leave her mother until she is forced to in the most unexpected way. When the men from the sky take her instead. *** It was a short debate but enough to push me over the edge. Pher was right. I was making this too difficult. I should just do it. I had been fighting myself on this for too long. I didn't care what he was, I wanted this. I stared at his lips as he spoke, my own tingling in response. "I could show you that if you wanted. Most of the other things you can do are outside of the esta-" I pushed up on my toes and crashed my mouth to his. My actions were unexpected and rushed. I could tell by his reaction. He reared back but not enough to separate us. His hand flashing to my arm to still us and then he froze. I thought for a second, based on his lack of response, I had picked the wrong time. Or maybe he had changed his mind from two days ago. I went to pull away, flushing lightly with embarrassment. I didn't get to disconnect our lips before he unfroze and reacted. His grip tightened, his other one going to my hair to hold my head in place as he kissed me back with more intent than I even had started with. My body flushed for a different reason now.

#676 Science fiction on January 9th 2018 ~~~~~~~~ Sometimes, every now and then, a scientific experiment works. And, if it works, a small percentage of the time, the subjects are let loose, given a certain freedom they had never experienced. And that's what I had now. Freedom. After around ten years of making sure my neural system was intact, the metal surrounding me grew with my body and the batteries didn't poison my immune system, I was given the option of getting out of CARESS, also known as Centre of Adolescents in Rehab after the Effect of Scientific Surgery, and live a normal life. Well, as normal as it could get for a teenage girl with giant metal wings stuck behind her back. ~~~~~~~~ "You remind me of Maleficent... But with blue wings... And definitely more badass." "Who?" " You know, the girl that poisoned Sleeping beauty?" "I repeat. Who?" "We are so watching that. Now." ~~~~~~~~ A novel full of romance, hate, humour and a hint of drama mixing into one great big story of life changing events and thrilling moments. ~~~~~~~~ This is a complete story, except if you are viewing it in the first few months of 2018 due to the fact that I didn't want to post it all at the same time. If it is not complete, updates will be posted every Monday and Friday. Enjoy! ~~~~~~~~ I go throughout my errors before I post, but if you do see some, or think something could be said in a better way, I'm always open to suggestions! ***CONTAINS SWEARING***

"I've been taught that girls have no value, and he's the only one who assures me that I do." Soleil is a girl. A young woman. A female. She couldn't hate it more, because in her society that cursed gender makes her expendable. The war that was wrought on Earth years ago destroyed society, and men almost went extinct. Repopulation is the propriety, even if it means marrying a man with 8 other wives to become a baby making machine. When she meets an enormous alien man through a window, she slowly comes to realize that she is meant for more. She sneaks away every night after that to meet him, finding herself falling for all 7 feet of him.... even if she can't understand a thing that he says. Fray has come from Rytaria to collect human females, the salvation of his race. As soon as he meets his precious Soleil, he knows he has to have her. Little does she know that Fray will do whatever it takes to make her his mate, and he will worship the very ground she walks on.
