A Shadow of Pain

Shadow's life is a cycle of pain-one he's long since stopped believing he can escape. Living under the roof of an abusive father, every day is a battle against fear, against the bruises hidden beneath his fur, against the cruel words that have carved themselves into his heart. He's convinced himself that this is all he deserves, that love is something meant for others-not for someone as broken as him.

But then there's Sonic.

Sonic, with his easy smiles and unwavering energy, is the only light in Shadow's dark world. No matter how much Shadow tries to push him away, Sonic refuses to let him disappear into his suffering. With every hug, every gentle reassurance, every night spent lying under the stars, Sonic reminds Shadow what kindness feels like-what it's like to be cared for, to be wanted.

Still, the shadows of home always come creeping back, and the bruises don't fade as quickly as the words do. Shadow wonders if he's too far gone, too shattered to ever be whole again. But Sonic doesn't see him as broken. To him, Shadow is strong-stronger than he even realizes. And no matter how many times Shadow stumbles, Sonic is there to pick him up, to fight for him when he can't fight for himself.

Because to Sonic, Shadow isn't just another person in need of saving.

He's someone worth loving.

Rewriting this story I wrote when I was like 14 lol Now that I'm 25 (Almost 11 whole years) I got back into writing and reading so if this goes well it'll be very motivating to keep going and continue other stories in my drafts including this one <3
