Life is simple. At least, it is to psychopathic men who would kidnap his adopted son's girlfriend to get at him. I bet you've already guessed who I am. Ha. To people who are like that, and believe me, there's more than you'd expect, life is simple. They think of life as a huge game of chess. At least, the guy I know does anyway. To him, every person is a player, and is also simultaneously one of someone else's chess pieces, depending on emotional attachment and personal traits, decides which chess piece you are. Me, for example, I am my boyfriend Trent's queen. Which means, that if I was taken by the other player, it would mean that Trent would be crippled, and have less options to keep on playing the game. On the other hand, Trent is my king, so if he got taken, checkmate. Game over. I lose. I know it seems hardly fair at the moment, but there are the other chessmen to think about. The rooks, bishops, knights, pawns. They're all part of the game too. Each side can use his or her chessmen to use against eachother, or to even gain advantages. But what people who don't think like that know, is that life is a lot more complicated than that. I mean sure, chess is pretty damn complicated, but life is even more complicated. You have to factor in every little detail. For when you're in what I call the 'chess mindset', you have no way to comprehend feelings like love, passion, hate, guilt, anger, and many more. In short, all the things that make us human. So, when in the 'chess mindset', you adopt a cruel, calculating demeanour. And the ironic thing is, normal people, like me, can actually comprehend the 'chess mindset'. Can see the sense in it. And that makes you feel guilty. Makes you regret ever seeing the sense in it.
