Mon-El didn't have to leave as Lena and the DEO developed a cure for the lead bomb so he stayed on Earth with everyone including Kara. What if in the pod the person the Girl of Steel saw was someone she knew very well before and actually couldn't believe her eyes? Kara finds out she's pregnant with Mon-el's baby after she has to say bye to him. It's only going to be 4 months for Kara until he comes back and 4 years for Mon-el. Mon-el won't be Married to Imra yet just dating her and Kara won't be to far into the pregnancy. The story will start when Kara says bye to Mon-el so it won't have a ton of Karamel in the beginning and she won't know she's pregnant in the first chapter.
