The United States got power hungry after World War 1, so they began to devise a plan to keep gaining more control, not cluing the President in. The government descended into oppression for centuries, putting more control on the people, arrests for no reason, and checkpoints, like a living prison. People have to hide who they truly are. Safety is not guaranteed. Then, out of the ashes, a little rebellion that has been forming for years arises, with an insane hope that they can stop this tyranny and oppression.

Undisturbed beneath the ground, magic is protected from the raging surface world, but new threats might force the gates open to save human refugees. The United States has been overrun by the rich and democracy is dying. Civil unrest has bled into the mainstream, but their new Tech leaders continue to hold their powers over the people. Old tech has been introduced causing a divide, though more advanced, was introduced too fast causing a cyberwar. Nuclear war was dodged, but AI is now being enslaved, creating hostile robots who are creating their own intelligence. And beneath the cyberworld above, lie the Nobodies - those who don't age, who live beyond their times, who guard the magical world deep in the hollowness of the Earth - can no longer stay on the sidelines as they witness the genocide of so called, "uglies". The gate must open.
