{Improve your novel, gain tips, compete}
The author who reckons their book's pretty damn good, or at least alright for the audience of Wattpad, wants their book to have a better, bigger platform, and to improve the novel. Sound familiar? Well it should. Out of the large writing community in wattpad, most of us writers are in the same situation. The Aeryn Awards mightn't solve all your problems, but with the help of a board of judges, we give you helpful feedback and constructive criticism on how to make your book even better, with the competitive twist many love.

Tips For Writing On Wattpad
Welcome to the wonderful world of writing on Wattpad! This is Wattpad, not the Olympics, so there's no need to panic. Anyone can try it, no training required. Writing doesn't have to be complicated, and you don't have to be a graduate of some fancy university, but there are a few guidelines that will make things easier for you and your readers. I have tips for beginners who paid as little attention in English as I did, as well as details on things I've learned over the years. Anyone can write a story. I never thought I would write anything, but I tried it and - much to my surprise - I found it very relaxing and entertaining. Feel free to skip around the chapters to find sections that interest you. You are also welcome to skim everything in case you find a hidden gem of advice. Please note that my writing tips follow the Chicago Manual of Style writing guide (you are free to use a different guide - keeping things consistent is the biggest thing).Complete

Book of Contests (2024)
To keep myself from losing track of: all the contests I've entered, all the contests I've volunteered myself as a judge (or let myself be voluntold into judging), all the books I've had to read as a contestant or as a judge, all the deadlines, and all the other important stuff, I've decided to create a book that registers all these things in a somewhat organized fashion. I can't remember who advised me to do that, but whoever you are, and there are probably several of you, thank you. I've been reading that it's extremely common for contests to be a bit sluggish with follow-up if a person wins a major prize and gets graphics and shout-outs, so I'll use this book to keep track of that, too. I had no idea so many people would be adding my personal convenience book to their own bookshelves, let alone voting for chapters - if my book of contests is useful to other people, that makes me happy. Very happy. However, I feel I must reiterate that although other people are welcome to browse my public contest logs and look for contests, look for information about details of contests (i.e. you want me to pour you some tea), etc, these contest logs are primarily for my own use. I enter so many contests that I can't keep track of them without a log. I forget important details, too, including things like "Note to self: You do not get along with this contest host, best not participate in their contests." This was never meant to be an "expose" book. I'm not exposing anybody. Contests are matters of public record, as are any comments made in the contest books. I'm just a ditz who needs a written log to keep track of everything. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my shoulders. What if your name didn't matter? What if no one knew who wrote what-only how it made them feel? What if it wasn't about being known, but about being unforgettable? What if, for once, you stopped asking, "Am I good enough?" ...and just entered the damn ring? Because this isn't your average writing contest. This is plot twists, pressure, passion. This is chaos in chapters. It's anonymous. It's brutal. It's electric. And no one is safe. Stories will crash. Some writers will rise. One will win. The rest? Let's just say... the pen cuts deep. So now what? You in? Or you watching from the sidelines... again?Complete
