Hiccup was devastated when his father disowned and banished him from the Hairy Hooligans for befriending a dragon. As told by Stoic, he threw his lot in with the dragons, but he isn't ready to leave his people. So, with his friends, they fly to the Nest to help their tribe battle the Red Death, but Hiccup believes all dragons have a heart. Right before he had Toothless fire into the queen's maw, human and beast stared into each other. There was no happiness or friendship, but there was respect.
But the vikings did not accept this. She had killed some of their own, and even went against other dragons! Hiccup refused to slay her though, believing he could tame her. However, with his tribe wanting her blood, he and Toothless left, and surprisingly the Red Death followed him instead of going off on her own.
An unlikely trio is formed over the next few years, out of a dragon tamer, a monster, and the devil. Truly being cast out by his tribe, Hiccup sets out to find himself. Since the Hairy Hooligans didn't want him, he found people who did, united under the image and presence of the Red Death and a Night Fury. Will Hiccup's motives to unite human and dragons stay on course though? Or will the demon of wanting to get back at his own surface and overtake him? And how will he deal with it all when a threat arises that opposes both Berk and his new tribe?

Hiccup and Toothless left Berk thinking no one cared. Being the neglected child of Berk (despite his family, and being the heir to the village), Hiccup decided he'd had enough. He took Toothless and his most treasured belongings and high-tailed it out of there. When he runs into his long-lost mother, life looks up for Hiccup. He's found a place where he belongs. Meanwhile, on Berk, the village assumed Hiccup was dead by a Night Fury's doing and left it at that. Astrid and her friends, however, didn't think such. Was going to be a one-shot but I decided to turn it into an actual book. Oh I decided to change Hiccup's age, so when they defeated the Red death, Hiccup and toothless were both 17 years old. May have mpreg. It has been 3 years since Hiccup and Toothless defeated Red Death and Hiccup lost his leg, he and Astrid are going well, at least that's what all of Berk thinks, but she breaks up with him just before he is supposed to propose but he does not want to marry her since he is in love with another person, well not person, he is in love with his dragon and toothless loves him back, anyways Astrid told him that she always loved him but she only used him for the power of being the heir to the Berk throne, she never loved him, she just wanted to be on top as usual, what will happen when she is found out. Will she be banished or will Hiccup leave, just to come back in a year when Drago Bludvist attacks?? The name is given to those who won't survive their first winter. Those who don't belong, those who will not be any more than a burden. Hiccup isn't an exception to this. I mean, sure he survived his first winter, and the next fifteen. But he caused problems, not on purpose. Things just happened when he was around. First when he was six, and a nearby furnace blew up when he lost his temper. Then when he was eight, nine, eleven. These strange happenings kept occurring, and nothing he did helped. Everything he did, everything he tried had some way of turning back on him. For the longest time he believe that the God's cursed him.
