Rose is a 16-year old heiress to the throne of her cruel father, King James Brentford of Ascentia. One day after sneaking out to her favorite spot in the kingdom, she is noticed by a group of men who happen to be members of a rebellion against her father. Upon recognizing her, they kidnap her. When she wakes up, she is on the exploration ship headed towards the Golden Isles, a new string of islands found in the Plasian Sea. To make it back home, she has to rise through the ranks of stronger, more capable settlers and lead her settlement to either victory or ruin against the war-hungry Laconan Empire.
