Based on the Avengers.
What if Bucky Barnes was a female? Well in this story she is. Roselyn "Rose" Barnes was kidnapped by Hydra and was experimented on. Captain America found her in a lab when the base was attacked and decided to bring her home. On there way back she fell off the train and supposedly died. She then became the Winter Soldier and to the world, was thought to be a guy. But in 2017, she got onto SHEILD's radar and things start to get messy. What did Rose endure through all those years? Will she remember her past life? Or will her broken soul never heal.

Elias Crimson has always run from her past. When orphaned at age five, her life took a full 180. She was taken to Hydra to be experimented on. She lived in a base in Austria, her home country. At age seventeen, she was sent to America for schooling, a bit more of experimenting, then finding a job at Hydra: being the Winter Soldier's caretaker. But when Steve Rogers confronted her, she realized she was in the wrong. To make up for her wrongs, she helped SHIELD, but soon, Hydra found out. I nod my head, "I forgot to ask. What happened to your hand?" "Fell off a train in the mountains. HYDRA found me and gave me this metal one." "Leaving me there and going really did nothing for you huh." "Thea-," he walks towards me. I yawn, stretching my arms and he watches me. My shirt slightly lifts, revealing one of my scars. "What happened?" He comes close to me, and places his metal thumb on my bare skin, trailing the scar. "Nothing," I move away from his touch, trying to ignore the butterflies ricocheting through me. He looks in my eyes, "Every scar has a story." I chuckle dryly, "Then I must be a novel." Bucky leans towards me slightly, my face hardly an inch from his, "You're a novel I'd want to read." Theadora Rogers doesn't know her origins. Correction, she doesn't remember. Correction, HYDRA wiped her mind when she was only 18 and her older brother, Steve, was 20. But like I said, she didn't remember him. She knew 3 things: 1. Her name was Datura and she was 28. 2. She is HYDRA's best assassin and she is kept in cryofreeze unless she is needed in a mission, and that she trained for 10 years before that. 3. All hail HYDRA. Datura is a beautiful flower, but deadly. Many people die every year consuming its seeds. The drug was amazing, but addicting and it kills millions every year. Now, down to business. Our Datura has a mission. To kill Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America. But what happens when, for the first time in 80 years, she fails and the Avengers capture her? Skye is an innocent minded girl after being on the run for so long so when she gets a new home she takes a liking to Steve after all he rescued her. Steve takes a liking to her as well. Seeing she's so innocent and beautiful and she smiles at him whenever he talks. And she looks at him like he's her whole world. Bucky Barnes starts to take an interest in Skye from afar. He's terrified of his feelings and to talk to this girl. She makes him feel different and he doesn't know if he likes that. He still can't forgive himself for what he's done during his Winter Solider days. He sees Steve with her and realizes he might be too late and that she might not ever get to be his. Not everything Hydra did had a specific purpose. Sometimes they tortured people and ruined lives just because they could. The kidnapping of Joana Kegley served no greater purpose than to help break in their newest experiment. Before her boyfriend went to war, Joana was a simple girl who helped her elderly grandmother run a clothing store. After her boyfriend went to war, she became something of a small town hero. A woman came to her personally to tell her that her boyfriend, Bucky Barnes, and her best friend, Steve Rogers, had both died bringing down Hydra. It wasn't long after that when she was plucked off the street like some stray cat and chained to a chair like a dog on a leash, where she learned that Bucky had endured something worse than death and that she was there to help them break him. Nothing she did could stop the turn of events that took place as the years rolled by. She hardly noticed that neither one of them aged. It wasn't until Hydra fell and she was still locked away, somewhere in the deep pits of some underground facility, that she realized how much the world had changed. Bucky Barnes remembered very little outside his own name, but he remembered a girl. He remembered a girl with a voice of reason, who spoke only the truth to him, who wanted nothing more than to keep him safe from himself.
