Camryn's life hasn't been the best since her mother's death. Ever since the fall of his beloved Queen, her father stumbles in drunk, sometimes with other women, often with his anger in tow and he find his release in putting his hands on her. What a shame that a man would do such a thing.

Camryn's best friend Mía knows about the abuse, but Mía has secrets of her own she is keeping hidden. Secrets that come in her room night by night for a ransom of money that her precious Mamá collects in exchange for her daughters purity. Why should something so pretty, so thick and curvy go to waist like that when a killer profit can be made?

Camryn and Mía are friends with Justin who has problems of his own. A junior in high school and this young man pulls more jobs than you could. His mom battles, of course, a serious case of lung cancer of all things. Unfortunately, a disability check isn't enough to pay the bills anymore and whatever insurance money his mom had recovered from his Pops is long gone. With two younger siblings to raise since his mom is on bed rest, Justin has to step into the role of the man of the house. How unfair can life be?

And now there is a new kid at school, named Tareek. Camryn's first encounter with him wasn't a great one and Justin would agree. Mía still holds out good faith in the new kid despite what her friends think. After all, no one knows what is happening behind closed doors, right? The truth is that Tareek was taken into a new foster home recently and he isn't quite sure how he feels about the invite when he is on the brink of leaving the system. Nor does he know how to play the role of an older brother in this home where they actually treat him like family. It's all just too good to be true when so much damage has been done to prove how conniving and deceptive people are. What was his new foster mother's plot for such kind treatment?
