Cliché Is Dead

I don't want dinner and a movie. I don't want you to teach me how to bowl, making me giggle when you breathe down my neck. I don't want you to always be the one I call when I'm upset. I want a romance that's not cliche. One that's not predictable. One that you can't read about in a book today, because there isn't one. Okay?" I huff my breaths out, placing my hands loosely on my hips. "Okay. Let's play." ***************************** Lily Jackson isn't your typical teenage girl. She doesn't like lip gloss, but she doesn't like Vans. She does wear pink, but she refuses to wear black. She doesn't wear bows, but she won't wear rubber bracelets. She doesn't like diamonds, but she hates plastic gems as well. So, what does she like? Or should I say, who? Chase Reynolds. Chase isn't a bad boy, nor is he a quarter back or a nerd. He's not the most popular boy in school, nor the shyest. He's just- there, as far as the school can see. He wears jeans and tennis shoes. He drives a Chevy Silverado. He's known to play the girls, though. He hasn't dated the whole class of junior student girls, but he's worked around. He likes teasing and playing around the board. When he lands on Lily, however, it's check and mate. She likes him, though she won't admit it to him or to her friends. He is intrigued by the bold and innocent Lily Jackson. So, when Lily offers Chase a game he can't turn down, she learns what it's like to have an odd and unpredictable relationship.
