Her answer is true, but the girl isn't satisfied. 

"You know I'm going to need a better answer than that. If you won't tell me who you are, then who are your friends?" she questions Scathach once more. 

I can see Scatty relax slightly and I tighten my grip on Clarent. It's obvious to me that she's deliberately loosening up to test if anyone will make the first move and then the big, pug- faced girl leaps at the Shadow, holding her spear sideways to attempt to hold her down. Scathach is too fast for her, she deflects the girl's spear with both of her swords, catching the attack in mid-air.
