The Duke of Florence

A time unknown. A language unfamiliar. A man unfeeling. Will Isadora be able to survive the Duke of Florence?

A/N: this story is very loosely based on Alessandro de Medici, the Duke of Penne and of Florence. In real life, this duke lived in the early 1500's and was assassinated at age 27. The truth of his character in this story are as follows:
Alessandro de Medici was born in 1510.
He was known for his dark complexion and was nicknamed "il moro" which translates to "moor", a common term for black people during that time period.
It was speculated that Alessandro's dark complexion was due to his mother being a moorish maid, Simonetta da Collevecchio. His paternity has also been disputed.

I have done research on Alessandro in hopes to make this story as accurate of a portrayal as possible. The location I use is allegedly where Alessandro lived. His wife in the story was also his wife in reality. Aside from this, all other characters, as well as the plot, are fictional. Any resemblance of these fictional characters to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events are purely coincidental.
