Gods once ruled over man. Emphasis on once. Man chaffed under the yoke that the gods had placed on it. Tired of the rituals, the tithes, and most importantly the sacrifices: man rose up using the tools and arts banned by the gods. Black magics gave the people the teeth they needed to wage a war against the gods. And they won. In the end, many of the gods lay slain, and those left alive confined to the English Isles.
