If there was one person that the manipulative and elusive Katherine Pierce cared about more than herself, that could convince her from doing something reckless, and rethink saving herself and only her, it would be Kataline Pierce.
The sisters had been stuck at the hip since birth, to when Katherine was disowned by their father for birthing a child, all up to when they returned to find their family slaugthered. They needed each other, whether Katherine liked to admit it or not. Kataline was her weakness, something that could be dangled as a bargaining chip that she would choose everytime in exchange for anything.
It wasn't until 1864 that the sisters realized their need for each other when they were seperated, for as being a vampire at that time was Katherine's real downfall. Now alone, Kataline now had to leave the transitioning man she loved, but also who she really was in order to protect herself from a higher evil.
