After years with Stryker and her memory of everything before she met him erased, she manages to escape, in the process-she comes across the X-Men and a mutant who shares more than just a similar mutation. She's a traitor to her people, fresh out of her empire's cage, but still not free. He's still trying to convince himself he doesn't care, hiding under the old mask of "wrong place, wrong time." Both of them are liars, and both of them know it. He's in deeper than he realizes, and he can't stay away from a warrior with the pain and heart to match his own. A re-work of an original story I started, but removed before I finished. I ended up completely changing the POV while keeping the story intact, because I have the worst case of "can't leave it alone-itis."
