This is a Dr. Horrible AU. I'll try my best to write this in a way that you don't have to know Dr. Horrible to understand it though.

Virgil doesn't handle change very well, he's never had to get used to it. Sure, there was the time when he and his best friend started dating, but that never really felt like a change.
