The river Ganges isn’t the only thing that meanders to Varanasi. The holiest city in India also serves as a final resting place for thousands of people who travel all the way just to die there. According to Hindu tradition, if a person breaths their last in Kasi, their soul immediately goes to Heaven, wherever that may be. This is the tiring, humorous and utterly inspiring journey of an 85 year old woman on the last leg of life who embarks on a pilgrimage in the hope that she makes it to Kasi before it’s too late.
