Love is like magic. It seems impossible. It seems unreal. Yet in this world, love is magic. When one makes eye contact with their soulmate, something magical occurs. This is called The Bonding. The more dominant one becomes what is called a Guardian. They have the ability to transform into a powerful animal, and they live the rest of their life with the goal of protecting their Bonded. The other, more submissive, person becomes what is known as a Caretaker. They are the emotional support of the pair. The two become an unstoppable couple, and love each other until the end of time.

My Soulmate (HoO/PJO AU)
When you turn 14, you get a tattoo that describes your soulmate. As you spend more time with them, it gets more detailed. But when you kiss your soulmate for the first time, you tattoo glows and shows their name. But this only happens when it is love and love only. (So if you just kiss someone to kiss them then your tattoo won't glow) As for your soulmate dying, your tattoo turns black and shows a small picture of them with their name under. After three days it goes away and you never get another tattoo. Disclaimer: I do not own the PJO or HoO characters. I wish I did though, but sadly that title belongs to Uncle Rick. Color. It's something our brain makes up. It doesn't really exist. So how come everyone made a big fuss about meeting and touching their soulmate so they could see in color? After all, what's so bad about black and white? Aren't they colors too? That's what Nico thought anyway. When he was younger he had tried to imagine a new color but had never been able to. His sister had died seeing the world in black in white. Nico didn't see the point of color. That is, until he touches his soulmate and sees what he's been missing out on...
