Poppy Hawthorne has had a relatively average life. Nothing exceptional. Except that over the last few months, she's been developing symptoms of serious depression, possibly bipolar disorder. Her suicide is relatively unlikely. However, in a world where The Company, a top-secret organisation that prevents teen suicide, has replaced hotlines, Poppy has attracted just enough attention to be deemed a trainee case. So T342, publicly known as Mackenzie, sets out on her first real mission in LA, trying to keep at just the right distance.
