Is the first thing Addie thinks when she sees the cloaked man approaching her after rolling out of the car burning behind her. 

"This is where i'm going to die."

And sadly, she was right, that was where she died. 
And as she watched the tall being approach her she braved herself for the feeling of the scythe slicing through her soul to send her to wherever was next. 

But he doesn't hurt her, he takes her hand and begins leading her on, explaining that the scythe is not for her, but is protection against the things that wish to stop them, and claim her soul for their own.
