Tyler Avdean has always loved crows and always hated fire.
His mother had a way with the dark birds, she always told him it was because they were drawn to her magic.
His father was the one with the fire, and he only used it to destroy.
When Tyler's mother dies his father forces him to learn magic, to use the fire.
Tyler leaves and finds a new kind of home, but no matter how far he runs, the fire will find him, as it always does.
