Captain Rogers didn't expect to find Loki, all wounded up and unconscious and completely defenseless lying limply on the floor, when he broke down HYDRA secret hideout.
He didn't expect to take the God of Mischief home, under his care and protection, instead of turning him in to SHIELD like he knew he should.
Oh, he certainly didn't expect to take Loki into his life.
