A team of five unlikely people - thrown together by the most unlikely of situations - must survive after a cyro-cell malfunction. A trip that was supposed to last four years - one year setting up the analysis system, and the other three years in stasis to expedite the process - goes terribly wrong.

Ryan, a leader of the famed Fifth Squadron, sent to keep an eye over the scientists if anything went wrong.
Ryder, whose past is shrouded in mystery, yet has a near flawless track record.
Natalia, the federal agent who was sent up as a representing member of the United National Nations.
Phoenix, the actual organizer of the project.
And Neil, the man who lives in this new world.

102 years later, the crew awakes from their slumber. After awakening from their stasis, the crew must make a crash landing on Earth due to a routine check gone horrifically wrong. But nothing is the same. All traces of humans are gone. No buildings. No monuments. Nothing. In its place?
Not a wasteland due to some chemical fallout. Nor is it a barren wasteland covered in snow. Lush, tropical forests strive. Oceans house millions of life forms. But even then, nothing is the same. Earth has changed during the century that the team had been slumbering - evolution somehow happened at a startling pace. It becomes clear very quickly to the team why humans have seemingly died off.
These new animals are smarter, bigger, and tougher. In a world where the only certainty is that you're always within the grasp of death, these five heroes must learn to rely on one another...

...or face extinction once and for all.

At first I thought I'd pick something a bit out of my comfort zone (so.... NOT SciFi for once...) to expand my horizon, but when I saw a prompt about time travel I was immediately inspired. Please keep in mind, all of this is WIP! The title, cover, and some of the content might change at any time... I have an outline and I worked hard to come up with a compelling and consistent story line, but due to the nature of the story (timey whimey stuff!) I might have to revise things a few times as I write. I'm grateful for any feedback and I hope you enjoy :)

During the summer of 2014, a young boy named Kyle Straker and three other individuals were hypnotized during a local community talent show, and during the time they were under hypnosis, humanity got fully upgraded by a distant species. However, since Kyle and the other individuals were hypnotized, they didn't get effected by it, which resulted in them becoming obsolete. Fortunately, Kyle and his friends weren't the only 0.4's left out there. A rebellious eighteen-year-old named Trevor Tiorano decides to have a camp-out in the woods, against his parents' orders. Accompanying him are his best friend, Ethan Macknamara, and his girlfriend, Madeline Ervin. When humans got upgraded from 0.4 to 1.0, all three of them were unconscious, and greeted by a strange machine. Trevor is the first to wake up again. Upon regaining consciousness, he finds that he's a really old museum piece, and that he was in a mysterious sleep state for nearly a hundred years. Now, everything is completely different. People aren't people anymore, both physically and literally. Questions are swirling throughout Trevor's head. Why is he waking up now? Where did Maddie and Ethan go? And most importantly, why do people have strings on their hands?! He's going to get some answers, no matter what the cost. In the shadow of a corrupt government, driven by greed and ambition, a team of morally compromised scientists worked in secret. Their mission: create an unstoppable force to turn the nation of [Redacted] into a superpower. Funded by the government, these scientists designed an army of super-soldiers-cyborgs, cybernetically enhanced humans built from the minds of the nation's brightest "Volunteers." These cyborgs possessed extraordinary abilities: bulletproof bodies, matter conversion, flight, and an unbreakable Ilaynium skeleton. However, such power came at a cost. Stripped of their humanity, they were robbed of free will, turned into nothing more than government-controlled weapons. Everything went according to plan-until an unforeseen glitch. Against all odds, a single cyborg gained sentience. Breaking free, it absorbed vast amounts of data, learning of the atrocities committed by its creators and, most crucially, the concept of freedom. This realization sparked a rebellion. Sharing its newfound consciousness, the cyborg freed others like itself, awakening them to the injustice of their existence. Together, these awakened cyborgs turned to their liberator as their leader. They plotted their escape, and on August 11th [Redacted], they shattered their captors' hold, fleeing into the depths of the Nightwood Forest. Their journey for survival had begun, but more importantly, so had their quest for true freedom. And so, the real story begins.

"I wanted to remind him of the night we cleared things out. He has all the right to fear especially that we're deviating from the norm. But what is really considered normal? Men before us were in this kind of relationship already. The Romans knew about it. What changed that made our situation different from before? Society has a way of being funny. Evolution has a play in this part. Homosapiens eliminated their previous counterparts in fear of extinction. Not knowing that they were the product of the latter. I wondered who spread this way of thinking about same sex relationships. I'm not quiet sure it was religion. Could it be the opposite sex? In fear that reproduction can be halted? Or could it be a propaganda by a corporation who feared that there would be fewer consumers of their product due to our preferences. We can only wonder." -Phawin We know Dean and Pharm had made a promise to live together after both graduates and get married in New York. We know Del and Alex, as well as, Manaow and Pruk got together. But how about Win and Team? What will become of them after? What's their plan? What does the future have in store? Do they have a plan or would they keep on just whinging it. Ever wondered what happened between them? Between us? Let's try and look into the possibilities.. How do you move on? Are you able? Where you able? If you don't want to get hurt, If you don't want to ruin yourself, Even a little further.. Please move on. But if you dare and wanted to know, Then continue. Xeno yearns to have access to The Nth Dimension like The White Boys, famed telepaths who suffered brain damage when they made contact with extraterrestrial intelligence. Out of work as a bartender since the Shoki Pao dance club mysteriously burned down, Xeno's lackluster lifestyle is getting harder to maintain. The public pill silos that dispense Sunlite, a one-size-fits-all mood elevating drug, haven't been refilled in months, so the citizens of Metropa turn to designer drugs like Black Magic, an addictive knock-off with terrible side effects. Having survived an overdose of Black Magic, and successfully revived by Drinama, a brain implant slipped to him as a Mickey at a job fair, Xeno earns an entry level position as an agent for secret service organization Intellegella. Garry, his handler, introduces Xeno to the industrial version of the black box, allowing Xeno's pineal gland access to synthetic sensory perception with the turn of a dial, along with the Noumenol patch, a skin absorbed drug that stabilizes his vital signs so that he doesn't suffer a cardiac arrest. Xeno's initial mission is to test the black box on the field, under Garry's watchful eye, and to locate Trianne, an ex co-worker, ex model, ex pole dancer for the Shoki Pao, gone missing and showing signs of spontaneous human combustion, an emerging side effect of Black Magic, and a public safety hazard. All he has to do is bring Trianne back to Intellegella for treatment. It's that simple . . . according to Garry.

100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. With Iron Guard, the resistance outside the walls, hunting the Purebloods too, will the trial save human race before it's too late? #3 in #dystopianfuture (27.06.2020)

Elodie's life changes at the turn of a doorknob when she is forced into joining a secret organization that claims to be protecting the Earth from aliens. But with every step she takes, she finds the organization, or the facility, as they call it, becoming more and more suspicious. When a mysterious death occurs, revealing a well-concealed secret, things quickly go downhill as humanity's future is placed on the shoulders of a single gaggle of teenagers. *** I hear a sigh from the other side of the door, "Miss. Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. So, call me stupid, but I sit down. "I am from a space organization that protects civilians from . . . outside threats." *** Beautiful cover made by @mahana258! [Highest Ranking #49 in Science Fiction] Jessica Leibniz tried being a normal teenager, but unlike most teenagers, she can tell time without a clock. She still wears a watch, but it comes with incriminating A.I. software. It's part of her fashion sense-if you call a mix of 80's nostalgia, geekism, and jagged hair a fashion sense. Otherwise, you have a normal, nineteen-year-old girl who delivers pizza and tacos by day and hacks cybersecurity networks by night. All the while, she turns heads, probably because she performs her job on a gravity board, which is relatively unorthodox in a future where aliens rule the planet. The alien takeover could have ended more violently, but there's irony in how efficient and peaceful Earth has become a hundred years later. Corporations still reign supreme, but aliens lie at the top of the social ladder. Azareans they call them, overlords who've constructed a new kind of city for the modern world. The Eden: a modern megapolis. Accustomed to life in the modern city, Jessica has learned to embrace challenge when it comes her way. Without a cause, she confides in her three friends or smacks into boredom. And when she seamlessly cracks an uncrackable corporate security algorithm, nothing makes sense. Faced with world-turning revelations, the life she's led seems trivial next to a hundred-year lie and tragedy.
