"Must be tough, everyone loves you, don't they? So goddamn perfect. They don't see it but I do, Potter. I can see straight through you."

"And what do you see, Malfoy?"

"That you're a mess, aren't you?"

She stared at him, rivalling his own expressionless mask. "You're the first person to say that to me."

"Well of course," he swung a leg, pacing around her lazily. "Everyone is too busy seeing the hero, but when you hate someone enough, you see their flaws, their weaknesses."

Her mask fell and she smiled to herself. "So you hate me?" She said, playfully.

"Of course, isn't that what we do, hate each other?"

The smile grew enough for dimples to appear. "I guess so."

"So yes, I hate you."

"I hate you too," she smiled.

Draco couldn't help it, his lips tugged slightly at the corners while laughter stayed restrained in his glimmering eyes.

"Good, I'm glad that's established," Draco announced. "We hate each other."

It's been one year since Hermione had lost Ron. She's growing tired of friends and family treating her as if she could break at any second. All she wants to do is be there for her daughter, Rose. As life would have it, she gains a new friend, and maybe even a second chance at love. Draco has been a single parent for a while. He wants to be the best dad that he can be to Scorpius. His life has become even more complicated when he tries to help his new friend, his former boss, Hermione Jean Granger-Weasley. ~excerpt: How could Ginny do this to her? To her! They were supposed to be best friends, sisters even. A hand wrapped around her wrist. "Go away Ginny." She bit the words out. A low chuckle rumbled behind her. "Too bad I'm not the Potter." Why did he have to follow after her! "Go away, Malfoy." The hand dropped away from her wrist. "So, it's Malfoy again." The pain in his words brought Hermione to a halt. "Why did you follow after me?" She whispered without turning around. Draco chuckled and she could imagine him running his hand through his hair. "It's quite obvious why Ginny did this." Hermione turned around to look at him, stunned that he had called Ginny by her name. He brought his eyes to meet hers and laughed. "Apparently, not that obvious." He continued when she remained quiet. "She's playing matchmaker." Ginny was doing what! Hermione was going to have to have a long chat with her friend. "I'll tell her to stop." She said tersely. "Why?" Did he really just ask her why? He should be the one to know why, Hermione had told him the reason why they would never be together. Then she remembered his words from that day, he had told her that she was worth the wait. . . . . . . . Characters belong to J.K Rowling.

Breathing out, Hermione took his hand and said, "Valet in lucem." Draco wrinkled his nose, looking up at her confused. "Was that an insult?" Hermione rolled her eyes. "No Draco, it's an old saying in Latin." "Well I don't speak Latin 'Mione." She huffed. "I said, Light Prevails Malfoy, because it always does." Hermione thought he might try to argue with her again, make her red in the face with anger but Draco paused when he opened his mouth. She waited in anticipation. His features seemed to soften a little as he stared at the ground. When his eyes came back up to meet her, she thought she might get lost in his gaze. "Light prevails." Leaning in slowly, Draco kissed her on the lips and Hermionie pulled him in. -x- Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger are far from friends, they're barely even acquaintances and if the two of them had their way, they would not be spending their final year at Hogwarts as Head Boy and Head Girl together. But as fate would have it, or rather McGonagoll, they are the top picks to keep the students at Hogwarts in check and out of harms way. Though the two of them might have something to say about that. Regardless, both Draco and Hermione accept their positions and try to move on from their old rivalry, close old wounds, and try to form some sort of friendship. But sometimes the past can't stay buried and old grudges die hard and despite not having to defeat a Dark Lord, their seventh year at Hogwarts may prove to be the hardest one yet. How to Kiss a Wizard

16 parts Complete

"You know what Potter... I think I'll take that offer," Draco began, walking closer towards me, backing me against the wall. "Wait, really?" I looked at him suspiciously. This was the boy who had hated me ever since I declined his handshake when we were 11... and now he was agreeing to help me. Something was up. "Yes Potter. Really. You said you'd do anything and anything means everything doesn't it?" I wanted to interrupt him there, I didn't mean everything, I opened my mouth to disagree but he carried on talking, not giving me a chance to answer. " I can use it to my advantage in the future. Who knows when I'll need it?" A smirk appeared on his lips as he eyed me up and down. I felt naked under his glance as I looked at anywhere except his face. Regret filled me once again. Maybe this wasn't the best plan, maybe I could back out now, and maybe I could just- My thoughts went blank as I felt a pair of soft lips collide with mine. Harry Potter could be considered good at everything.... except kissing. When he finds himself crushing on Ginny, who better to teach him the arts of kissing than the Draco Malfoy?
