Jenna's life is pretty good, though it could be better. She works as a bartender at a local bar all day and come back to her tiny apartment building full of people at night. But when Jenna's mother drops the bomb saying she's coming to visit, her life gets turned upside down. Her mother has always had very high expectations for Jenna. Her mom had Jenna's whole life planned out, until Jenna decided to go to New York City and try to become a writer. But thing didn't fall in place for her so she kinda gave up on it. Her mother wouldn't let her move there until she knew that she could actually have a great job and house. Her mom gave her three months to find a perfect place to live and work. And if she didn't, she'd have to move back to Michigan. Jenna really wanted to be free, so she ended up making a whole thing up about how she got an amazing job at a manuscript company and lived in an amazing apartment and even met someone. Well, her mom ended up letting her move there and Jenna has been lying to her about everything, knowing her mom wouldn't ever want to come visit anyways because she doesn't like traveling.
