"You knew my mother?" I asked, curious and slightly offended that she didn't say anything earlier.
Arista smiled, her tail wading back and fourth in the water. "Yes, I did. We met when we were children by a mere accident. But, unlike most people, she didn't judge me for who I was. And because of that, we became the best of friends..." She said, her blue eyes gazing off as if she was remembering every single detail.
"You know, it was your father's idea to name you Wendelyn." She remarked. "Your mother always wanted to name you Snow White."

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, You'll turn ruby as you fall... Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, No more fairest of them all... ~~~ Ebony lives in the Mirror Palace, where the Crystal Queen rules all she sees. At least, Ebony thinks she's alive. No one seems to be able to see her--not even Ebony herself, when she looks into a mirror. The only time anyone notices Ebony is during the day, when they walk past her in the gardens--or use her for various things, such as a coat rack or a convenient shadow-caster. During these moments, Ebony wants nothing more than to speak, to be heard--but Ebony can't speak, or move, or even breathe, because Ebony is little more than a statue, frozen in marble. She doesn't know why she comes alive after the sun sets, or why she can run all the way into the Faerie Forest and still find herself back in the gardens once the moon is gone. Ebony doesn't know much of anything at all, except that she loves Prince Castor, who spends every afternoon reading in the shade she casts, and that she fears the Crystal Queen. Ebony believes that she'll be trapped in marble forever, but with the arrival of Henric, a huntsman hired by the Crystal Queen to track a rare white hart, her fate begins to change... "Hey guys... what is this?" the small orange haired girl named Emma said. Her small hands gripped on the cold bars. "A gate. It connects the inside and outside." The small black haired boy named Ray answered. "Outside? We've never been outside..." "That's because we haven't left here since being born." The small white haired boy named Norman said. "So is this what Mom always tells us about?" Emma smiled. "Never go near the Gate of Fence in the back of the forest cause it's dangerous.'" "Hmm...I don't see anything dangerous there." the small girl named (Y/N) said with her eyebrows furrowed. "She says that but it's not true." Ray says looking down. Norman looks at Ray. "It's not?" "Hey Ray! What would you do outside?" Emma happily asked. (Y/N) looked at Emma to Ray. "I don't know. You, Emma?" "I'd ride a giraffe!" "Good luck." Ray turned away, sarcastically. "And you, (Y/N)?" Emma asked (Y/N), happily. (Y/N) thought about it for a moment. "I want us four to be together and spend the rest of our lives outside!" Emma's smile stretched widely and giggled. "Yeah and that too!" "This gate..." Norman touched and grabbed the cold bar with his both hands in front of him. "You know...I wonder what is really keeping us protected from." ---------------------------------------------------- This my first fan fiction book of The Promise Neverland anime with female reader inserted. !!!Undergoing Editing!!! *previously known as The Red Queen Effect* "It's strange what desires could make foolish people do. I'd never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you, And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you." ~ Wicked Game by Chris Isaak There were many times that I could remember hearing the stories about people falling in love or meeting their one true love. Stories that had allowed me to fantasize about meeting my true love, the one that fate had chosen for me. However, it seemed like it truly was never meant to be, according to my grandmother, "Love is a Queen's greatest weakness. Remember, my dear granddaughter, you are a Princess now but you will soon be a Queen who will rule with an iron fist and an empty heart." But was love truly a weakness? According to the stories that I have read and heard around the castle, love seemed to be something magical and incredible, especially if it was true love. So, how could someone determine it to be a weakness? It wasn't until I landed in Neverland that I had to find out the truth the hard way, in the most excruciating and heart-wrenching way possible. Yet, It was my fault after all, I decided to make a game out of it and someone else decided to use that to their advantage. If I was given the chance to change something from my past it would have been to prevent myself from all of the heartache that was to come. Maybe then I could have saved myself the trouble of having to rip out my own heart. But you know what they say, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." I am the daughter of the Evil Queen, the granddaughter of the former Queen of Hearts, there is no such thing as a happy ending for people like me. What a Wicked Game life plays. *Comments and votes are always welcomed. ** I do not own Once Upon A Time, only my characters Clara, Ravenna, Kingsley, and Flynn and any ideas for this story.
