The Guard (Sequel to TWSHM)

In the months after Connor's becoming a newborn, life has been good, or at least as controlled as he can manage. Finally, his newborn year is up and he starts playing his role as a Volturi Guard member, including going on assignments with Jane, Alec, Demetri, and Felix. Soon, Aro finds someone to add as a transitory guard member- Anna, a girl from Connor's human life who has the ability to make or break romantic ties. This, adding to Anna having feelings for Connor, surely won't result a pretty reaction from Jane, but how worse is that reaction going to be when she finds out Aro is sending Connor and Anna alone to deal with a certain group of vampires in Forks, Washington?
