Immediately following the events of The Last Jedi, the battle for the galaxy continues between the First Order and the last of the Resistance. As the new Supreme Leader takes the throne, the First Order is focused on finding and destroying all who oppose them. The Resistance had disappeared into hiding and desperation has forced them to explore the gray areas of war. Meanwhile, on opposite sides of the war, Rey and Kylo Ren are forced to face the realities of their bond, their complicated relationship, their loyalty to their causes, and their understanding of the Force. Could their star-crossed connection be tied to the fate of the galaxy? This is a slow burn! Enemies to friends to lovers. This story continues the arcs and themes beautifully woven through The Last Jedi, as well as the narrative from the previous two trilogies. All plot elements are intended to be canon-compliant through TLJ. This is 100% complete. It was completed in December 2019 on A03 before The Rise of Skywalker was released, so this is not a "fix-it" fic as much as an alternative to Episode IX. This is a dark story. Trigger warnings for major character death, minor character death, violence, severe injuries, psychological torture, physical torture, brief explanations of sexual assault, suicidal thoughts. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. A great calm has arrived. For 300 years, the JEDI KNIGHTS have retaken their rightful place as guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. The recent passing of Jedi Master ORI SKYWALKER has sent the entire NEW REPUBLIC into mourning. Master ERROL CORLAX has been selected to succeed her, and assume the mantle of Skywalker. But Errol is not as beloved as his predecessor. And the enemies of the Jedi are beginning to stir. As Errol's coronation nears, the Jedi prepare for conflict.... [Some background: I thought about how I would continue Star Wars after the sequels if I was in charge of things, and had so much fun coming up with a plot I had to write it down. Written in (probably totally wrong) script format to make the fantasy complete. And no, the episode number is not a typo. In the style of the OT, the story begins at Episode XI, and will then jump back to its prequel, X. :P]

Ezra, Sabine, chopper and a few rebel soilders are sent on a secret mission, ordered by Hera and sato, to investigate one of their hammer head corvets which was thought to be attacked by imperials. They go to collect any supplies from the ship and check for any survivers but end up confronting someone of great danger to the crew. The mission ends up putting stress and worry on phoenix squadron due to one crew member but when in doubt they find and figure out how to address the large problem which was created in the mission. The procedure the squad takes is a 'roll of the dice' but ends up paying off with the heroics of another crew member and the main motivation of the rebelion....Hope. The Galactic Empire and their allies, The Confederacy of Independent Systems, The Combine Overwatch and the Sith Empire, continue to hold a vice grip on the galaxy. While at the same time, maintaining good relations with the Imperium. The Recently formed Rebel Alliance, in collaboration with the Republic Remnant try to fight back against the Empire's expansion, but have had very few victories against the Empire. In the mid rim of the galaxy lies the planet Pathos. A once peaceful planet devastated by war during the Clone Wars, is one of many planets under the control of the Galactic Empire. With a blockade of ships commanded by Admiral Piett orbiting the planet, trade to and from the planet is very strict and monitored. Leaving many of the planet's inhabitants poor and hungry. While the capital city of the planet, Uline, is under imperial occupation, the second largest city on the planet, Kansai is maintaining law and order on it's own, thanks to an effective police force and an elite division of operatives, the Execution Division. All of them are dedicated to their roles of keeping their city safe from criminals dubbed, Akudama. Recently, a high-ranking Akudama known only as Cutthroat has been captured by the Kansai police, where he currently waits in prison for his public execution for the serial killings of over 900 citizens. However, what the Kansai police don't know is that several other high-ranking Akudama are about to receive a job offer. One that could change Kansai forever.
