Alaska Eastlake has been dead for three years. She is trapped in the house she was born in, not the one she was killed in. She knows she has to find something that will gain her access into the spirit yard, but she doesn't know what it could possibly be. She knows who she is and what the house means, but she doesn't know anything else. She doesn't know who she was, who she knew, or what she did. But Alaska's world spins around her in confusion when a handsome teenage boy moves into her empty home with his sisters and mother. And what really gets her, is that this stranger has a notebook with her name on. With photos of her inside of it. Who is he? How did he know her? What where they before her death? And will he ever be able to see her?
