Telus is holding a contest on Wattpad seeking poems addressing bullying and I read some entries there - many wonderful entries.
Each November Twentieth, the transgender community observes the Transgender Day of Remembrance, TDoR - when we remember and honor our sisters, brothers, and non-binary siblings lost . . . murdered for no other reason then they were transgender.
This poem was written two years ago for TDoR and, while it doesn't directly address bullying, it addresses the aftermath - the result too often occurring from it. It also addresses those bullied who can no longer continue - the more than 40 percent transgender people - mostly children - who end their lives because they can no longer endure the bullying.
Make room, we all exist.
