Rose is just turning fifteen and she wished for a change.  She wishes for a better life and not for every year to be like the last.  
Rose deals with abuse. She deals with family problems and she deals with friends.  
The abuse won't go away. 
Your family doesn't want to be there for you.  They don't want you.  
Your friends don't want to help you. 
Rose is being buried.  (Emotionally)
And it's in a really deep hole.
